Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended for faster service; we even have same-day appointments available a lot of the time.

How long does the fingerprinting process take?

Most sessions take 10–15 minutes from start to finish. Results are typically transmitted within 24–72 hours depending on the agency.

Live Scan Fingerprinting

What is Live Scan fingerprinting?

Live Scan is a digital fingerprint capture method that transmits prints electronically to the FDLE, FBI, or other authorized agencies for background checks. It’s faster and cleaner than traditional ink prints.

Who needs Live Scan fingerprints?

Many professionals and volunteers — including healthcare workers, real estate agents, teachers, security guards, and caregivers — are required by the state to submit electronic fingerprints for licensing or employment.

How do I find my ORI number?

Your ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) number is provided by the requesting agency (e.g., AHCA, DOH, DBPR). If you’re unsure, contact the agency before your appointment to avoid delays.

How soon are results available?

Most results are ready within 1–3 business days, depending on the agency’s processing time.

Can I get a copy of my results?

For security reasons, the FDLE and FBI send results directly to the requesting agency — not to the applicant. Contact the agency for confirmation or verification.

Hard Card Scanning (Out-of-State Submissions)

What if I live out of state but need Florida fingerprints?

No problem. Personafyr offers hard card scanning services — you can mail us your FD-258 fingerprint card, and we’ll convert and submit it electronically to the FDLE on your behalf.

Which form should I use?

Use the FD-258 fingerprint card. Make sure it’s completed clearly in black ink with all required information (name, DOB, sex, race, etc.).

How long does processing take?

Once received, we typically process and submit your card within 1 business day. Agency turnaround times vary.

Can I track my submission?

Yes — after submission, you’ll receive a TCN number (Transaction Control Number) that you can verify using the FDLE TCN Lookup Tool.

Ink Fingerprinting

Do you still do ink fingerprints?

Yes! We provide traditional ink fingerprinting on FD-258 cards for out-of-state, federal, and special licensing purposes.

When is ink fingerprinting required?

Ink cards are often needed for FBI background checks, out-of-state licensing, immigration, or federal submissions that don’t accept electronic Live Scan.

How should I prepare?

Wash and dry your hands before your appointment. Avoid lotion or oils. We’ll handle the rest — our technicians ensure clean, high-quality prints every time.

Can you mail or scan my ink card?

Yes. We can digitize or mail your ink card to the appropriate agency upon request.

Background Checks

What types of background checks does Personafyr provide?

We provide Level 1 and Level 2 background checks through the FDLE, FBI, and VECHS systems, as well as private background check searches conducted under FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) guidelines. These private checks are designed for employers, landlords, and individuals who need fast, accurate results for verification or screening.

How fast are private background checks?

Our private background check searches are available in as little as 10–15 minutes, depending on the depth of the search and the type of record requested.

What does a private background check include?

Are these private checks compliant with federal laws?

Who can request a private background check?

Employers, landlords, or individuals conducting self-checks can request one. We simply require written consent from the person being screened to stay in compliance with FCRA regulations.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and business accounts for recurring clients.

Can businesses open an account with Personafyr?

Yes — organizations can create a business account for bulk fingerprinting, billing, and discounted pricing. Contact us for setup details.

What if I miss my appointment?

We understand things happen — simply reschedule online or call us. No penalty for rescheduling.

Verification & Support

How do I verify my fingerprint submission?

Visit the FDLE TCN Lookup Tool and enter your Transaction Control Number (TCN) to view your submission status.

Do you provide mobile fingerprinting?

Yes — we offer on-site and mobile fingerprinting for businesses, events, and large groups.
